2025 - 2026
PrimeTime Extended Day Program

San Diego Unified School District’s (SDUSD) Extended Learning Opportunities Department is working collaboratively with the PrimeTime Partner Organizations to offer a PrimeTime Program for grades TK-8. The PrimeTime Program will provide an engaging environment where students can strengthen their academic skills and participate in fun enrichment activities within the areas of Art, Science, Music and Athletics, while improving social skills. Students who participate in PrimeTime will be offered a free nutritious snack.

All TK-8 students at the 144 PrimeTime schools are eligible to apply for PrimeTime services. Our goal is to expand PrimeTime services to meet the needs of our community throughout the 202-26 school year.

The California Department of Education has recently designated SDUSD as a Rate 1 district under the Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). This new status provides universal access to all interested students in grades TK-6 who apply during the initial application window (April 14, 2025 - May 2, 2025). A phased rollout of enrollment is planned to give districts time to expand quality programming gradually pending space and staffing.

As our department transitions from Rate 2 to Rate 1, we will continue to prioritize enrollment throughout the school  year for the following student groups:

  • Homeless/foster youth (highest priority)

  • Low-income students (eligible for free/reduced meals under LCFF)

  • English Learners

Note: Your student must be enrolled (or pre-registered) at the same school where you are applying for PrimeTime during the regular school day.

All students enrolled and pre-registered for the 2025-26 school year in grades TK-8 at our 144 PrimeTime who are seeking PrimeTime services, received a unique application link via email and text on April 14, 2025. If you applied during this window we are working with the PrimeTime partners to gradually accept applications pending space and staffing throughout the school year.

If you did not apply during this initial application window, PrimeTime is using a lottery-based acceptance system. Students who meet the priority enrollment criteria outlined above will receive first consideration.

Families who missed the initial window or are new to the district may still apply; however, participation is not guaranteed, as most programs are nearing capacity. If space becomes available, new applications will be considered. If the number of applicants exceeds the available seats at that site, a randomized lottery may be conducted to determine placement.
