Paid Summer Leadership Experience for Student Workers
During the five weeks of summer programming, selected students will participate in a summer teaching experience where they will receive training to conduct Leader in Me social emotional learning lessons in identified elementary schools as assistant teachers. This opportunity provides real world work experience, employment opportunities, and career exploration in the field of education. Student workers will be placed at identified elementary schools in the cluster they selected.

Learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Obtain practical work experience in the field of education

Build college and career readiness skills

Explore skills necessary to thrive in leading others in your school and beyond

Participate in training and development sessions

Experience fun, hands-on and interactive activities with your friends and classmates

Currently enrolled in & attending a San Diego Unified High School (Charter students are not eligible)

Be 16 years old by June 10, 2026

Provide 1 professional reference

Demonstrate interest in leadership

Available to commit to the internship for 5 weeks during the summer

Meet the legal requirements to work in the United States
