SDUSD PrimeTime Extended Day Program
2026-27 PrimeTime Extended Day
August 10, 2026 through May 26, 2027
San Diego Unified School District’s (SDUSD) Extended Learning Opportunities Department works collaboratively with the PrimeTime Partner Organizations to offer a PrimeTime Program for grades TK-8. The PrimeTime Program provides an engaging environment where students can strengthen their academic skills and participate in fun enrichment activities within the areas of Art, Science, Music and Athletics, while improving social skills. Students who participate in PrimeTime will be offered a free nutritious snack.

Student Eligibility
All TK-8 students at the 144 PrimeTime schools are eligible to apply for PrimeTime services. Our goal is to expand PrimeTime services to meet the needs of our community throughout the 2026-27 school year.
The California Department of Education has recently designated SDUSD as a Rate 1 district under the Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). This new status provides universal access to all interested students in grades TK-6 who enroll during the initial enrollment application window (April 20, 2026 - May 1, 2026).

Note: Your student must be enrolled (or pre-registered) at the same school where you are applying for PrimeTime during the regular school day.

Update on 2025-2026 PrimeTime Applications:
Thank you for your interest in the PrimeTime Extended Day Program.
We are excited to share that enrollment has reached the highest level in our program’s history, with more than 20,000 students enrolled across 144 schools—nearly triple the enrollment from just three years ago. This reflects our strong commitment to expanding access by hiring over 450 new PrimeTime staff members, creating additional space on campuses, and keeping student safety and engagement at the center of all we do.
At this time, all requests for new application links for the 2025–2026 school year are temporarily paused due to high demand and our growing waitlist, which exceeds 3,000 students.
We know how important high-quality before- and after-school care is for families, and we are working diligently with all 144 school sites to reduce waitlists. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
If you have already applied, please contact your PrimeTime partner with any questions
